The Valley of the Sun is the golf capital of the southwest, with over 200 courses in the region that makes up metropolitan Phoenix, including the upscale Scottsdale community which features the most high-end accommodations, clubs and resorts in the area. Most courses and developments in Scottsdale are relatively new compared to Phoenix, having sprouted up from the 80s to present, and many are built with luxurious homes, condos and villas on the fairway or close by.
