Redesigned and rerouted, Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale offers a new set of treats
Long known as one of Scottsdale's finest facilities, Troon North Golf Club is home to two championship courses, the Pinnacle and the Monument.
Both courses have consistently rated among the best public options in Arizona since the debut of Troon North in 1990, so it comes as a surprise that the golf club would change so much to both designs.
That's what happened, though, under supervision of Tom Weiskopf, who teamed with Jay Morrish to originally build the courses. Weiskopf and Morrish rerouted, redesigned and reseeded the golf courses. The result is more natural layout. They swapped holes between the courses, so if you played Troon North before 2007, you're in for two new sets of 18 holes.
The golf courses are also walker-friendly, with minimal distances from greens to tees.
Troon North fits into a large development north of downtown Scottsdale and houses a Four Seasons Resort just a short drive from the golf club.
