ORO VALLEY, Ariz. -- The beautiful desert backdrop and views that stretch to the Catalina Mountains in the distance are what inspired the name of The Views Golf Club at Oro Valley.
The golf course rolls across the gentle contours of the landscape, blending seamlessly into its surroundings. Golfers might also be joined by the various wildlife that have made the course their home.
Greg Nash designed the layout, incorporating the native cacti that dot the terrain. Dry washes and arroyos characterize the front nine and the elevation changes become even more dramatic as the back nine moves toward higher ground.
The challenges also increase on the backside, where golfers will encounter more elevated tees and sharp doglegs. Bunkers are strategically placed throughout, but only the par-4 10th hole has a water hazard coming into play.
There are several holes that require some thought but the layout is a manageable length at just over 6,700 yards and it is also quite forgiving. Regardless of skill level, the views alone are worth the round.
