Quarry Pines Golf Club at Marana is one of the Tucson area's most unique plays
Quarry Pines Golf Club is one of the Tucson area's more unique plays. In 2000, the former Links at Continental Ranch was closed and renovated in conjunction with the neighboring quarry to its present form. Ten holes are now featured within the quarry, mostly coming on the back nine, while the other eight were altered. Some 1,000 pines were also added throughout the golf course to remove the links character.
The entire golf course plays on the short side, just 6,486 yards, but is very tight in most spots, especially within the quarry. Quarry Pines Golf Club's 12th hole is 574 yards and very narrow as it runs above the quarry to the right. The course's par 3s are especially demanding, none more so than the 12th: 254 yards to an elevated green. There are four sets of tees here playing to just under 4,900 from the forward set.
Quarry Pines Golf Club is located 10 miles north of Tucson just off 1-10.
