Golf Club at Vistoso: Weiskopf design is one of the top daily-fee desert courses in Tucson
TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Golf Club at Vistoso is one of the top daily-fee desert golf courses in Tucson.
Designed by Tom Weiskopf and located in the Vistoso master-planned community, the golf course is a target-style desert design, featuring many forced carries over desert shrubs and shots over cacti, including the par-4 11th hole, "Saguaro."
The Golf Club at Vistoso plays up to 6,935 yards, which is no cakewalk given the course's many sharp doglegs and hazards. Despite starting off with a wide open, easy par 4 first hole, the par-5 second is a tough dogleg right and uphill. The third is a par 3 designed after the styles of A.W. Tillinghast, featuring a raised green and splashed out bunkers, while the par-3 17th hole is a long carry over desert to an elevated green.
The 18-hole, semi-private Golf Club at Vistoso also has a full practice facility and restaurant.
